Chemistry Assessment Specialist

Gridnaut Recruiting seeks expert chemists to author and review high-quality academic assessment content for an AI research initiative. Workers will develop rigorous multiple-choice questions spanning core chemistry domains and help establish benchmarks for AI capability assessment.

Task Types (Two Options):
- Question Authoring: Develop original challenging multiple-choice questions in chemistry expertise areas, rate difficulty levels, and submit for review.
- Question Verification: Examine pre-written questions for accuracy and clarity, edit as needed, rate difficulty, and document modifications.
Chemistry Domains: Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Miscellaneous Chemistry
Key Responsibilities:
- Create questions that test deep conceptual understanding, not surface-level recall
- Ensure questions are unambiguous, self-contained, and precisely defined
- Assign difficulty ratings: Medium (intro undergraduate), Hard (advanced undergraduate), Expert (post-graduate+)
- Provide 1 correct answer and 9 plausible but incorrect alternatives
- Write step-by-step Chain-of-Thought solutions in markdown format
- Supply 1-5 academic references per question from peer-reviewed sources
- Flag clarity, completeness, precision, or solvability issues during verification
Ideal Qualifications:
- PhD or doctoral candidate in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Master's degree acceptable for candidates with exceptional subdomain depth
- Strong command of graduate-level chemistry concepts, reaction mechanisms, and quantitative analysis
- Experience with rigorous academic problem design or chemistry olympiad writing preferred
- Excellent written English proficiency
Commitment: 10+ hours per week, asynchronous, fully remote
