Controls Engineer Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

American Axle (NYSE: AXL) is seeking a Controls Engineer Maintenance Technician for a hands-on role supporting the reliability and performance of automated manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLC systems and ladder logic
• Support HMI programs, servo systems, and motion control
• Handle Fanuc robot troubleshooting and programming adjustments
• Respond urgently to equipment downtime events
• Execute preventive maintenance and document findings in CMMS
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, arc flash, and LOTO procedures

Qualifications:

• 5+ years troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLC systems
• Strong hands-on PLC, ladder logic, and HMI experience
• Servo systems, motion control, and CNC machinery expertise
• Industrial electrical systems troubleshooting capability
• Fanuc robot troubleshooting experience
• Ability to read electrical schematics
