Physics Assessment Specialist

We are seeking expert physicists to author and review high-quality academic assessment content for an AI research initiative. Workers will write and verify multiple-choice questions across physics domains, evaluate solution quality, and help establish benchmarks for advancing AI capabilities.
Task Types:
- Question Authoring: Create original, challenging multiple-choice questions in physics expertise areas, rate difficulty, submit for review
- Question Verification: Review pre-written questions for accuracy and clarity, edit as needed, rate difficulty, document changes
Physics Domains Covered: Theoretical Classical Mechanics, Optics & Acoustics, Electromagnetism & Photonics, Statistical Mechanics & Thermodynamics, Astrophysics & Cosmology, Particle & Nuclear Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Relativity, Solid State & Atomic Physics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Author questions testing deep conceptual understanding, not surface-level recall
- Ensure questions are unambiguous and self-contained with all necessary information in problem statements
- Rate difficulty as Medium (intro undergraduate), Hard (advanced undergraduate), or Expert (post-graduate+)
- Provide 1 correct answer and 9 plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives that challenge expert-level solvers
- Write step-by-step Chain-of-Thought solutions in markdown format
- Supply 1-5 academic references per question from peer-reviewed sources
- Flag clarity, completeness, precision, or solvability issues in verification tasks
Ideal Qualifications:
- PhD or doctoral candidate in Physics or closely related field
- Master's degree acceptable with exceptional subdomain expertise
- Graduate-level physics concepts and mathematical formalism knowledge
- Academic problem design or physics olympiad experience preferred
- Excellent written English
Hourly Rate: $35-$75 USD
Commitment: 10+ hours weekly
Work Arrangement: Fully remote, asynchronous
